CREST II: Applications

Syfte och mål

The objective of the project was to establish strong collaboration with Indian academic partners - IIT Delhi and IISc Bangalore in this case - while doing strong industry coupled research. This goal was resoundingly met with a total of eight publications and six more publications in pipeline to be published in next 3-6 months. Two new grants have been obtained based on CREST II results and six other projects are under review. Two of these projects under review involve IIT Delhi and IISc Bangalore as partners.

Resultat och förväntade effekter

The CREST II project resulted in active collaboration with IIT Delhi and IISc Bangalore that has established the basis for a long term continued collaboration. Seven workshops of seniors were held, three in India and four in Sweden. About 7 months of student exchange happened. The three partners worked on a common research paltform for a shared goal with components developed by different partners. 8 joint publications and 6 more in pipeline 2new grants based on the CREST II project 6 other grant applications under review. 2 of these applications have IIT Delhi &IISc Bangalore as partners.

Upplägg och genomförande

The key reason for successul CREST II were as follows: The project was carefully defined after intense consultation of shared objectives and a decision to use a common research platform. The partners knew each other well from the previous CREST project and also from previous sabbatical by Prof. Anshul Kumar IIT Delhi. The partners had common background but also complenetary competences. The setback that the project suffered was due to industrial partners not living up to their promises and some key staff leaving the project half way through and had to be replaced by new recruits.
