Syfte och mål
The X-MEAP project aimed to develop the next generation of MEAP (Mobile Enterprise Application Platform) based on 3 innovation tracks: mobile cloud computing, cross-platform front-end (client side) and context-aware back-end enterprise integration (server side). The result is a a cloud-based enterprise application framework combined with an app store, available at www.appearstore.com
Resultat och förväntade effekter
The technical part of the project generated 5 new hires (engineers) at the end of 2011, which are working on iOS and Android developments. We attracted high profile developers from Sweden, Russia and Poland. The commercial part of the project generated 5 qualified customers interested in using the platform to build their mobile applications: 3 customers in the Public Transport sector, 1 customer in the Utility/Field Service sector and 1 customer in the Private Security sector.
Upplägg och genomförande
The project development went at full speed after the summer, using agile development methodology (Scrum) with 2 weeks iterations (sprints): - In Q3 2011, we dedicated a team of 12 engineers to work on the project - In Q4 2011, we hired 5 new engineers to strengthen the project team - In Q1 2012, we delivered the beta version of the new product platform We incorporated a number of new technologies such as NoSQL databases and HTML5 device code.
