Syfte och mål

Scania will provide a demonstrator implementation of a complete toolchain for development of Scania trucks. This toolchain will be used for making experiments and evaluate the feasibility of large scale tool integration with OSLC. The toolchain will contain tools for SW architecture, system architecture, testing, configuration management, requirements management, and production data. The tools will be mix of tools from suppliers and inhouse developed tools. For the evaluation, a set of use cases and scenarios will be defined together with evaluation measures.

Förväntade effekter och resultat

Nowadays, system and software development are getting more and more complex with stringent requirements for complying with quality and safety standards, demanding higher degree of tool and data integration. Since system complexity is highly related to tool and development data complexity, there is a strong need to manage tool and data integration in a more systematic and standardized way instead of today´s typical ad-hoc solutions. For Scania, a tool-chain based upon the new OSLC-standard is an interesting alternative for cost-efficient tool and data integration.

Planerat upplägg och genomförande

The national collaboration planned are with KTH and the SME FindOut. KTH will be active in research and demonstrations of SW solutions for realizing data and tool integration using OSLC, and will also investigate on research for tool interoperability that will be applied in the Scania´s demonstrator. With FindOut, Scania will develop the application for graphical visualization of lifecycle data. In addition, this work will include initiations regarding standardization of graphical data information structures for embedded systems development, starting with OSLC.
