Viktiga resultat som projektet gav

-Define medium access and physical layer techniques for D2D communication to support reliable, low-latency communication at high vehicular speeds. This will lead to practical algorithms and methods for D2D communication. -Find suitable hardware architectures for software-defined radios in vehicles. - Study electromagnetic compatibility and exposure issues when integrating 5G equipment into cars. The outcome of this is a set of requirements that will allow a smooth and safe integration of the new 5G technologies into personal cars.

Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas

1)Develope an overall 5G system architecture providing optimized end-to-end V2X network connectivity for highly reliable and low-latency V2X services. 2) Development of 5G radio-assisted positioning techniques for both Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) and vehicles to increase the availability of very accurate localization. 3)Demonstrate and validate the developed concepts and evaluate the quantitative benefits of 5G V2X solutions using highly and fully automated driving scenarios in test sites.

Upplägg och genomförande

The automotive industry has shaped a vision towards cooperative and automated driving. Enabling this vison is not possible without overcoming telecommunication challenges in terms of low latency, extreme reliability, overarching coverage, high data rates and massive access. Different use cases within automated and cooperative driving refer to relatively wide, yet challenging, ranges of 95% to 99.999% reliability and 100 ms to 1 ms latency.
