Syfte och mål

The purpose of the project was to develop a prototype for a cell isolater to be used in quality control of ovarian tissue that is going to be used for treatment of infertility after cancer treatment. This would make the company ready to start selling quality control services to clinics. The project now has a safety bench that meet sufficient quality standard to be used in quality control of ovarian tissue that is not going back into the patient. The company is now ready to start selling the service to clinics around the world.

Resultat och förväntade effekter

It was surprisingly hard to find suitable companies in Sweden. It was also obvious that some further work had to be performed in order to make the test more robust. It was also very positive that the quality level for the required equipment could be lowered compared to what we expected at project start. This means that it will be much easier to go to market and start offering the service to the market. Taking all this in account it means that the company during late fall 2014 can start sell the service to clinics performing this kind of transplantation.

Upplägg och genomförande

We started to develop the QP process with some potential customers and realized that we had to do some changes to our process. We also found out that the tissue was not going back to the patient so we could lower the quality demands on the equipment. We scanned the Swedish market and got some quotas that were too high so we had to continue the search. Finally we found company that specialized in building prototypes for medical technology companies and they could deliver what we needed.
