Koordinator Linköpings universitet - Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM), Linköpings universitet
Bidrag från Vinnova 50 000 kronor
Projektets löptid juni 2016 - oktober 2016
Status Avslutat

Syfte och mål

The project is a real synergies collaboration with complementary expertizes. Swedish partners focused on device engineering and physics, Georgia Institute of Technology has expertize on material synthesize. In the short and longer term, the collaboration will promote the research in both universities and accelerate the pace to industrialize solar-powered OECDs. The scientific aim of this project is to develop large area, flexible, solar-powered organic electrochromic devices (OECDs) by integrating OECDs and organic solar cells.

Resultat och förväntade effekter

Result 1. OECDs has been successfully fabricated including solid electrolyte. Result 2. Flexible electrode of PEDOT:PSS has been applied in OECDs, but the device belongs low contrast. Metal wire will be tested in the future research. Result 3. Periphery integration of OECDs and OSCs has been developed, the OSCs can successfully drive the OECDs, which means the two devices match very well. Result 4. The interface modification of electrochromic layer can enhance the stability of the OECDs, which will be mainly focused on in future work.

Upplägg och genomförande

Supported by this grant, I stayed in LiU for device development with materials from Georgia Tech, discussed with the researchers of Georgia Tech. During this stage, periphery integration of OSCs and OECDs has been developed successfully. Besides I found some new problems, such as interface plays important role in OECDs. Future work will focus on the problems we met in this project. Future collaboration with GIT will continue, Peking University will be included for the investigation of interface.
