Viktiga resultat som projektet gav
The project’s goal is to push Swedish industry to securely connect their products to the Internet, using standardized methods. The project was to achieve this using different methods including seminars and hands-on tutorials. We have organized four events: two hands-on hackathons, a seminar on secure IoT as part of the RISE SICS and Ericsson Security Day and one meeting with company presentations on secure IoT combined with an afternoon hackathon. Together, these events attracted more than 170 attendees. We have also devised online material regarding secure IoT with Contiki-NG.
Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas
To give Swedish industry a push to securely connect their products to the Internet, we disseminated our knowledge on securely connected Internet of Things to a large number of industry practitioners and other interested stakeholders. We have reached and educated a large number of practitioners including consultancy companies who might further disseminate the knowledge they acquired. We have further improved online material practitioners can use. In addition, we have made companies active in the secure IoT meet which has given valuable contact for them and Swedish industry.
Upplägg och genomförande
The approach of the project was to provide hands-on tutorials, hackathons and seminars. We organized 3 such events that were successful with mostly satisfied attendees. We organized an additional event from companies for companies, where IoT companies discussed their offerings and needs related to security. This event attracted large and small companies. The by design large time for mingling allowed for new connections which will benefit Swedish IoT companies in the long run. Our self-evaluation after the events we organized helped to improve subsequent events.
