Viktiga resultat som projektet gav

The primary purpose of this grant was to develop a positive professional working relationship between Dr. Edith Callaghan from Acadia University and Dr. Göron Broman at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola. This was accomplished and resulted in completion and submission of an application to Vinnmer -- Marie Curie Incoming Grant. An initial literature review to support interdisciplinary work in sustainable food systems was completed. A consortium with additional scholars and practitioners was established. Conceptual development for additional grant applications was accomplished.

Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas

This Incoming Planning Grant has allowed us to solidify a positive working relationship between researchers and institutions. Dr. Callaghan has been able to advance her professional aspirations of working closely with experts in the field of sustainability, as well as submerging herself in the board field of food systems. This grant has allowed her to take the initial, and important, steps toward becoming established as an expert scholar in the field of strategic sustainability for global-secure food systems.

Upplägg och genomförande

The implementation for this project required Edith Callaghan to travel to Karlskrona, Sweden in spring 2014 to begin working with Göran Broman and making connections with additional scholars and practitioners. Office space and access to research resources was provided, allowing for successful completion of this project.
