Ballad - Baltic Living Labs

Syfte och mål

The overall vision of the project was to make the Baltic Sea region a single market for digital services by supporting collaborative innovation based on local competitive advantage. By understanding the true SME hurdles for entering an international market a supporting process was developed- Transfer process Model (TPM). When such a process is established, under sustainable business conditions, the exchange of digital services will increase. The TPM proved to be very efficient by the 11 pilots conducted in the four countries and in the two selected areas, e-Health and e-Education.

Resultat och förväntade effekter

The project developed a Transfer Process Model (TPM) to support SME in practice when transferring a digital service from one country into another. In addition a business model was designed. In the evaluation phase 11 pilot cases were conducted to evaluate the TPM. A portal was designed to support the SMEs with general information about each of the participating countries. By using the TPM the SMEs can be support in much more efficient fashion than the traditional way of doing internationalization. By its implementation the number of services available on the market will increase.

Upplägg och genomförande

The project was split up in five work packages where each partner took lead in at least one WP. This created commitment for achieving good results in the project. All outputs were described early and agreed upon. All partners participated in all the activities in the WPs and by that generating a joint result. 54 project meetings were conducted with all partners participating. Outputs were followed up at all project meetings. Dropbox and Skype were used extensively during the project saving travel and time. The project results were presented at a final event broadcasted over the Internet.
