Viktiga resultat som projektet gav
The global challenge advancing resilient infrastructure in the face of climate change” launched at Slush in Nov 2019. 17 impactful companies were invited to the bootcamp out of 228 applicants, of which 10% were from Sweden. Additionally, a Walk in programme was established with the goal to give impact startups the chance to join GIC during the year. The spots were limited to 5 spots per year. The SDG Innovation local community was launched and now counts 6 members from which two are paying. With the move to Malmö, the center has taken the initial steps to become self financed.
Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas
One Year Targets as in application: 1. Financing: 860,000 SEK of which 610,000 SEk are in kind contribution. Investment of 1mio SEK by Sony to global programmes. 2. 1 global agreement and 5 formal agreements with 5 institutions. 3. Connection to UNOPS Regions has been established with the purpose of demand driven innovation needs. 4. A new challenge process has been created based on lessons learned and implemented into new challenges in Japan and Sweden for 2021 and 2022.
Upplägg och genomförande
This pilot year for the community has allowed the Sweden team to develop a strong package for new members. The local community has already run a number of flagpole events, both together with all members as well as tailored to 1:1. The incubator programme was established with modules focusing on the uniqueness of the UN and its reach: 1. SDG Boost 2. UN Market Insights 3. Impact investing 4. On site piloting As Innovation Centres are still in the middle stages of the set up period, Innovation Centre Sweden plays an instrumental role in defining processes and capabilities for the global program.
