This report by the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose brings together three major strands of research: the role of public procurement in mission-oriented innovation; the complex interplay between New Public Management reforms and innovation policy; and the development of dynamic capabilities within public sector institutions. These studies show how governments can more effectively organise, govern, and operationalise innovation to address grand societal challenges.
