Viktiga resultat som projektet gav
The following goals were achieved in the project: • Scale up Chalmers current process from 2-inch wafers to 4-inch wafers • Reduce the fabrication-induced uncertainties in the process. • Measure the effects of device aging and introduce methods to pre-age and stabilize QDs. • Reduce the usage of toxic chemicals. Additionally, this project led to the development and launch of the “Qubit-in-a-box” (QiBx) series which has been very successful.
Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas
Beneficial effects derived: • Accessibility of affordable and very high quality quantum devices for researchers – allowing faster development • Further solidifying Sweden as a world leader in development of high performance quantum technology • ConScience acts as a stabilizing mechanism for the industry as a whole by providing a mechanism for quantum engineers to continue their careers after PhD. This prevents talent flight and helps in attracting more potential talent to Sweden.
Upplägg och genomförande
The project was divided into 6 work packages: • WP1 – process enhancements • WP2 – Scale up (2 in to 4 in) • WP3 – delivery of customer samples. The efforts here expanded beyond SeeQC and into a number of other clients, as well as the release of the QiBx series • WP4 – investigation of safer chemicals • WP5 – verification of qubits • WP6 – project management
