Mobility for growth

The program support experienced researcher careers through mobility and international collaborations. The Mobility for growth programme is a continuation and development of the Vinnmer programme that will not open more calls.

Supporting researchers through mobility

The overall objective for the programme Mobility for Growth is to support career development for individuals through mobility. The programme has a funding mechanism for incoming and outgoing transnational mobility for experienced researchers (including a reintegration phase for outgoing mobility), and it promotes active international collaborations between involved organisations.

The Mobility for Growth programme targets experienced researchers who have a doctorate or at least four years' full-time equivalent research experience and who are interested in mobility as a career development option.

The programme duration is from 2012 to June 2018 and there is currently an overall budget of EUR 35 million, of which EUR 10 million is co-funding from Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (European Commission).

The predecessor Vinnmer strove to achieve equality

The long-term objective of the Vinnmer programme was to help to increase the number of postgraduates that could become the leaders of the future at universities, colleges, centres, research institutes and companies.

The programme was directed towards the underrepresented gender in the scientific field of the application and towards researchers who have a PhD and who have completed their Post Doc qualification. The programme applied to qualification for people who conduct needs-driven research and in co-operation between a university or college and operations in the private or public sector.

Vinnmer ran over the period 2007-2014 and the total budget, including co-funding, was just over SEK 600 million. The programme budget was strengthened by the European Commission People FP7 - Marie Curie Actions - with €5 millions.

Vinnmer applied positive action to achieve equality effects for an underrepresented gender in fields, where need for equalising imbalances is great at the level of professor or similar position.
