Viktiga resultat som projektet gav
The project made sure that Food is on the agenda as an important thematic for European innovation and growth, as well as for tackling societal challenges. The effort in triggering a Food KIC call has been successful and a call is expected in 2016. Furthermore, Sweden has shown that it is an important country for contributing to growth and tackling societal challenges in this area. A strong Swedish-Danish partnership has been institutionalised and is expected to meet the objectives of a Food KIC. Moreover, the innovation infrastructure of the Swedish participation has been enhanced.
Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas
Food is firm on the EU agenda as important for tackling societal challenges and generating growth. This resulted in a forthcoming EIT KIC call. A strong Swedish-Danish consortium is established and the European partnership represents the strongest candidacy. The Swedish presence is a key element in ensuring the KIC objectives are met. The innovation infrastructure in the area where Swedish participants are active is enhanced and further supports the KIC candidacy. All above can leverage growth in the food industry as well as the development of market relevant education and research.
Upplägg och genomförande
FoodBest work programme, business plan and governance structure is developed. Industry partners are on board, long term financial commitments and expectations are negotiated, and a business eco-system development has been formulated. The EU and SE nodes have been aligned in relation to smart specialisation i.e. organization, management and governance of the KIC. Global market opportunities have been investigated and the alignment of cross-sector knowledge resource bases is under way. Analysis of the open innovation paradigm and methods are in use in the FoodBest partnership.
