Purpose and goal
By getting a picture of climate data in the classroom, teachers and students can start different activities to understand how they can affect the climate. What if students forbid their parents from driving them to school, if students take smaller portions of food, based on the data they gleaned from IoT sensors? Real-time data visualization helps teachers and students understand that their choices make a tangible difference. We want to scale up the control panel project to more schools to speed up the data-driven climate awareness with the students in the school as a starting point.
Expected results and effects
The control panel creates opportunities to use IoT technology in teaching, teachers get a new tool to teach abstract concepts about the environment, climate change, global goals. Increased environmental and climate awareness among students and guardians (via their children´s involvement) and increased understanding of their role and how they can affect the environment and climate change. Makes opportunities for a better working environment visible for teachers and students. Reduce food waste by visualizing it for students.
