Advanced technology is developing at a rapid pace and fundamentally affects society. The area Digital transition at Vinnova supports and strengthens the development of enabling digital technology to increase Swedish innovative power.
We finance and enable environments for applied research and initiatives that will attract and develop cutting-edge expertise in areas such as digital platforms, end-to-end AI, autonomous systems, and electronic components and systems.
We are also working specifically to strengthen Sweden's innovative power in four transformative technology areas that are expected to fundamentally change our society and business - AI, 6G, quantum technology and extended reality (XR).
By bringing in more perspectives than the technical and more societal actors, Vinnova enables societal transformation and contributes to Sweden becoming a forerunners in combining green and digital transformation.
Together with the industry (Teknikföretagen, ABB, Ericsson and Saab) Vinnova runs the Advanced digitalisationprogram. On behalf of the government, the efforts are scaled up significantly during 2023-2027.
