Jeannette Spühler is the national contact point for the EU frameworkprogramme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe. In the role she guides various Swedish actors who want to apply for funding from the framework program.
What is your role?
– I work as a national contact point (NCP) forthe EU researchs- and innovation programme Horizon Europe. The programme is extensive and divided into several parts. Our mission is therefore to assist Swedish organisations who wish to apply for funding from Horizon Europe.
– I am responsible for cluster 4 of Horizon Europe, which includes digitalisation, industry and space. I am also the national contact point for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
What is the most rewarding?
– It is rewarding to be able to contribute to bringing together researchers, startups and established companies so that they can iimplement research and innovation project together. I inform at conferences and meetings about Sweden's forces and how Swedish actors can find international collaborations. In addition, I monitor developments in the field and disseminate current information to the Swedish actors.
What is the best thing about the job?
– Vinnova has competent employees that I learn a lot from. I also really appreciate the exchange with my colleagues in other countries. It is also extremely interesting to follow the EU's efforts in research and innovation.– A lot is happening in the digital field. AI is just part of it. I hope that Sweden can take a leading role in this development.
