Purpose and goal

StoryTourist is a new way to travel and experience books, movies and other stories on the location where the stories take place, it’s like Pokémon Go for stories! StoryTourist has conducted a feasibility study to test and validate customer segments, marketing strategies and business models. The project’s aim of making StoryTourist investment ready for venture capital has been achieved, and StoryTourist has closed it’s first seed round.

Expected results and effects

The results, aside from the seed investment, are that some of StoryTourist’s strategies concerning customer segments, marketing, business models and pricing have been verified, where as others have been adjusted according to the new knowledge the project has provided. This project will also, as planned, lead to a second project aiming to strengthen our business model, scalability and competitiveness by building a publishing platform for our B2B market.

Planned approach and implementation

In order to reach the main goal we planned three activities, which were conducted simultaneously and each had their own goals: customer need and market validation, business model and pricing testing and product validation and technical development. We changed the setup for the business model and pricing testing, which led to us learning more about how our product is used, at the expense of knowledge about the business model. We did however reach our goals for the other two activities as well as our main goal.
