Purpose and goal
The purpose was to carry out a pilot study for a full-scale demonstration plant as a proof of concept to offer safe boarding of offshore structures. The study has been successfully completed. A group of reputable industrial companies have been formed to carry the project right into the goal.
Expected results and effects
In the preliminary study, we have identified the market´s wishes and requirements. Through contact and visits to power companies, we have come up with solutions that solves their problems when boarding offshore foundations and structures. Through the project, we have created confidence in our product. We have expanded our knowledge of the industry and thus improved our skills.
Planned approach and implementation
After reviewing market needs, requirements and wishes, we have defined three main components of the plant; Crane, wire system and platform. All components must have a lifetime of > 20 years with minimal maintenance. The crane is specified and priced the wire system as well and the platform, carrying the system, is analysed. The construction has been simulated in FEM-analysis by Symetri AB. The intended materials have been chosen. Analysis results will be used in the construction of the test facility and design solutions can now be developed as the next step.
