Important results from the project
The overall goal of the project was to pave the way for a successful market introduction of Enza Biotech´s unique surfactant technology by strengthening the position towards potential customers. This goal was achieved during the project when Enza was acquired by Croda International, a large british ingredient manufacturer. Two out of three work packages contributed with crucial data and information about quality and product performance and had a direct impact on the negotiations and the outcome.
Expected long term effects
The project has generated data and resulted in new knowledge about the performance of Enza´s unique surfactant technology. This contributed to the acquisition of Enza Biotech by a large international company during the project, which will allow Enza to continue as a research and development unit with a chance to develop, expand and create new jobs. The new results and data which were produced during the project will contribute to the further development of the technology, new IP and support a market introduction of the technology.
Approach and implementation
The project plan was outlined with the aim to prepare for a customer testing period which eventually could lead to a strategi partnership and negotiations about divesting the technology after the conclusion of the project. Since Enza Biotech already during the course of project was given an offer, it was decided to omit one of the work packages and continue with the other two as planned. Moreover, since an unforeseen time had to be spent on negotiations, an extension of the project with two months was requested to get time to finalise the project.
