Interoperability between platforms

Purpose and goal

Through collaboration between platform providers, find ways and methods to successfully create interoperability between IoT platforms and open data platforms. Functions created will be used in municipal operations to reduce and even out energy production. The goal is to generate important lessons about cooperation for interoperability and contribute to a favorable position for the parties and other actors in Sweden for future EU initiatives in interoperability, MIMs, environmental and sustainability.

Expected results and effects

The project will result in knowledge and technology that facilitates future information exchange and interoperability. This is in line with intentions within the EU, which gives the parties and Sweden good opportunities to contribute at EU level. The project develops a prototype, applied to test cases where energy consumption of different actors is measured. When this data is shared, a common picture of the energy situation is obtained. Decisions can then be made based on the collective amount of information, which then provides a better picture than the data did separately.

Planned approach and implementation

The work will be run jointly by the various parties, with each party taking responsibility for its part in the project. Interoperability between the platforms is driven by Sensative, Th1ng and Metasolutions. Icon Development contributes with knowledge of standards, as well as review of implementation and technical design. Region Jönköping County is responsible for administrative coordination and overall goal fulfillment and for applying the results of the project in the activities of the ongoing Vinnova project for IoT in Jönköping County.
