Important results from the project
The project has delivered several stages of prototypes, the final ones being field testable in life like environments while showing moving material on the hats display. The caps are used as we are writing this report for getting feedback from users and during meetings with investors. With the prototypes we could also produce high quality pitch material, parts of this can be seen in the attached product video. With the help of the video and prototypes, we are now fundraising for the 2 phase of the project.
Expected long term effects
During the fall, we launched a landing page where individuals could sign up if interest in the caps. We have received 16,000 sign ups so far. With this success and the recently completed prototypes (somewhat delayed) we have started the process of contacting investors. The prototypes have made it possible to create material for pitch decks and the video. The long-term effects in a one and five-year term are difficult to pronounce at this stage as we still need more funds to get the product in mass production.
Approach and implementation
The project has mostly been completed according to plan. Timewise we lag somewhat behind schedule due to the fact that sourcing of the display took much longer than expected and the need to re-design the hardware infrastructure. The trip to the Display Week in Los Angeles and the contacts we got there proved absolutely crucial for us to be able to purchase displays of a major manufacturer. We have used an agile approach to the project with weekly sprints. This way of working has helped us tackle the delays and made re-scheduling of activities easy to implement.
