Advanced digitalisation – future solutions in Swedish industry
The research and innovation program Advanced digitalisation will give Swedish industry a leading role in the digital solutions of the future. Solutions that strengthen competitiveness and enable and speed up the green transition. The initiators are ABB, Ericsson, Saab, Teknikföretagen and Sweden's innovation agency Vinnova.
Advanced digitalisation, which started in 2021 is a long-term effort. About a hundred innovation projects are already underway and 62 are in the process of being started. During the years 2023-2027, the program will cover around SEK 4.5 billion. Half of this is public funds and half is co-financing from industry. The open calls for proposals and other activities offered within the program are aimed at actors who, in collaboration, can contribute to developing advanced system solutions for industry.
Advanced digital solutions are to be developed in Sweden
The program focuses on the development of the future's advanced, sustainable digital solutions that increase the competitiveness of Swedish industry. It should also contribute to us maintaining the forefront of research and development in Sweden and becoming a country where the next generation of advanced digital solutions are developed.
Advanced digitalisation is a partnership between the state and business. The state, represented by Vinnova, finances up to half of the program's budget and administers various initiatives. A program office based at Teknikföretagen, has been in place since 2022 with the task of running the business as efficiently as possible with the industry's needs at the center.
