Purpose and goal

In cooperation with Skärholmens stadsdel we have, carried out the project Vi skapar Staden! with the purpose of creating an increased interest in urban planning among young people by developing summer jobs as an source of inspiration and forum for changing their own environment. By: - Develop an educational concept to educate young people about power and priorities in urban planning - Discussed,encouraged and supported their ideas and thoughts - Tested an idea on a real scale -Collected and documented their opinions and ideas and handed them over to the municipality.

Expected results and effects

We have: - increased the interest of urban planning amongst the participants - Tested an idea on a real scale in their own neighborhood -Collected opinions and ideas for future development of the municipality -Produced a material with methods that can be reused by other municipalities and districts in the future We hope that these activities in long term will increase diversity among the architectural industry

Planned approach and implementation

Part 1. The material has been revised during the project and will continue to be adapted for future projects depending on local conditions. Part 2. The process should begin earlier for better co-planning with relevant local government departments. Part 3. We have compiled a report and associated marketing material which will be developed further
