Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The overall objective subject to the VINN-verifiering project has been to demonstrate the technical viability of Wavetubes Wave Energy Converter by performing experimental tests in order to further the development towards commercialisation. VINN-verifiering has enabled Wavetube to perform extensive R&D in order to demonstrate their solution. The team has built a strong technological and commercial platform, both nationally and abroad. Wavetube has been incorporated to Wavetube AB and is ready for the next step, i.e. ocean deployment.

Expected results and effects

Wavetube has been able to gain sufficient knowledge and experience in order to know that Wavetube has a competitive technology advantage. Wavetube is now qualified for the next step, which is developing a fully functional larger scale power plant to be demonstrated in the ocean. This step is crucial and is a pre-requisite in order to get power utility companies and industrial partners committed.

Planned approach and implementation

The success of the project herein has been based on a systematic approach of the activities performed. Clear and do-able objectives for each performed milestone have been the key to being able to perform in accordance with the set out plan. The activities have to some extent been amended from the initial plan, however the achieved outcome has been the to the better.
