Tribotextil development program

Reference number
Coordinator Tribotextil AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 900 000
Project duration June 2018 - August 2022
Status Completed
Venture Innovative Startups

Purpose and goal

The purpose and goal of the Development Program was to further develop the manufacturing process in order to obtain a perfectly good product. Get an in-depth knowledge of the surface defects we have seen during deep drawing and through simulations and practical tests see if they can be avoided. Through practical tests, develop the use of Tribotextil in press braking and get the product out for use by the first reference customers. Through contacts and interviews with potential customers in Sweden and abroad, investigate and learn about their needs. All these goals have been met.

Expected results and effects

It was very difficult to develop a manufacturing process that gives us a product without fiber clusters/knots in the fabric. The work involved a large non-vow development lab and a manufacturer interested in developing with us. After extensive test production, we reached the goal, a thin non-woven without fiber clusters/knots. When we saw hard-to-explain surface defects during deep drawing, we chose to focus the use of Tribotextil on press braking, where the product´s advantages are very clear and without surface defects. We sell Tribotextil to customers that using it in production

Planned approach and implementation

The program was carried out in close cooperation with manufacturers, suppliers, industrial companies, institutes, labs, customers, experts and researchers. It was necessary for the development of the manufacturing process, simulations and analysis of surface defects, advice and expert knowledge and developing the press technology with Tribotextil. Together with companies develop press applications and through company interviews and participation in international fairs gain increased knowledge of the market and the companies´ needs. We used also clusters and networks.
