Purpose and goal
The objective with this project was to set a solid foundation for commercialization of our technology by working with customers in Europe, USA and China. They have verified that our technology will enable them to improve their manufacturing processes by shortening time for synthesis with up to 90%, lower solvent consumption with 40-60%, and improved control over the process by automation and in-line monitoring. The objective was also to confirm that our technology does not infringe on any third party patents. This has been achieved by working with external patent attorneys.
Expected results and effects
Work with customers has verified the advantages with our technology. Based on customer feed-back a new instrument prototype has been built and tested. An updated business plan has been used in discussions with investors leading to an agreement that will allow us to finalize work with the pilot scale instruments for launch. An FTO analysis has been done together with external patent attorneys. This has resulted in a document that clearly shows that the company has FTO. Work with a patent strategy has been initialized and will result in at least two patent applications.
Planned approach and implementation
We have worked with several customers in Europe, China, and USA by face-to-face and telephone meetings. We have presented data generated with our technology regarding purity and yield after synthesis of certain peptides. The customers have confirmed that purity and yield are at least as good with our technology as with their existing processes. We have preliminary data showing that investment in process scale equipment from us will for most large-scale customers lead to a pay-back time of less than 12 months. An FTO report has been generated together with external patent attorneys.
