Purpose and goal

SwedenBIO has mapped and launched a report on the precision medicine landscape in Sweden, Precision Medicine - Industry Guide 2018, to nationally and internationally demonstrate the breadth and strength of this area, as well as attracting partners and investors to Swedish companies. The report can also be used as a basis for discussions and actions that support the industry´s continued positive development, not only in terms of a strong industry with qualified jobs but also with positive effects on healthcare and health.

Expected results and effects

The report is now available both in print and as a PDF version available for download. Since the launch, the report has been highlighted in the national and international trade press. The report will be distributed and presented at a number of international meetings during the year, eg. BIO Korea, BIO US, and Nordic Life Science Days. The fact that several stakeholders now use the report, and present it in various contexts, gives this area an increased exposure as expected.

Planned approach and implementation

SwedenBIO made a survey of Swedish companies that contribute in various ways to the development of precision medicine. The companies were invited to respond to a web survey about their projects and activities. A report was compiled and launched according to plan. The report is unique in its kind since no analysis of the Swedish precision medicine industry was previously made. The report now receives both national and international dissemination, which leads to an increased awareness of this Swedish area of strength and the report thus fulfills its purpose.
