An attractive place, combining several functions and having knowledgeable staff creates the conditions for increased reuse. The test results, 40% reused locally. A further 35% were sorted given to Myrorna for reuse. Adapting to residents´ needs was appreciated (opening hours, present for some time, easily accessible). How to incorporate learning to create understanding, needs to be further elaborated on.
Approach and implementation
The Innovation Procurement was the first of its kind conducted within the organization. The tender documents took a long time to develop, cutting away from the tendering and implementation. Yet, six interesting proposals, collaborations between architects and waste experts, were submitted. The uniform message was; reuse and waste management needs to get a more central place in our cities. The procurement method is interesting and will be used in the future. The procurement has provided SVAAB and NDS with new ideas that will affect waste management in Stockholm at large.
