Funding from Vinnova SEK 500 000
Project duration January 2016 - May 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The parties have established a mutual understanding for each other´s ecosystems. The key needs within primary care have been identified and a road map has been developed for innovative solutions and technology that can improve the contact, communication and way of working. The parties have also explored, tested and developed a) applicable models for collaborative innovation processes within the county councils b) the key principles for an economical model that defines the potential value created in partnerships and how that can be shared.

Results and expected effects

The following conclusions have been made: 1) Partnership structures are the future for developing the healthcare system 2) The county councils need a structured and scalable model for how to innovate in partnership 3) Today´s reimbursement system is not compatible with the development and implementation of innovations in partnership. The identified challenges in this project are in line with national findings (e.g. Effektiv vård (SOU 2016:2). At the same time the project has explored new grounds and opens up to new solutions that can optimize the outcomes in the healthcare sector.

Approach and implementation

The project was conducted by a set of work packages to ensure a precise and extensive analysis of the current needs, solutions and barriers. The activities within the work packages included research, literature reviews, interviews with patients and staff within the county councils, workshops and qualitative analysis. The cross-functional constellation of the different parties in this project has enabled a multifaceted approach both when it comes to analysis and the development of potential solutions. The foundation in this constellation has been trust and transparency.
