Purpose and goal
This pre-study has investigated opportunities to create a project for validating potential effects of smart urban mobility solutions based on remote control/teleoperation of (autonomous) vehicles in a Systems-of-Systems (SoS) setting and creating a knowledge base for SoS engineering in the urban transportation domain.
Expected results and effects
The pre-study has established a common framework and understanding of the state-of-the-art, a starting point for further studies. It has also established a proof of concept for test and demonstration environments. The literature review shows that there is little scientific publication on teleoperated road transport. The conclusion is that a coordinated effort could move Sweden to the forefront in this area both industrially and academically.
Planned approach and implementation
The project carried out a state-of-the-art review, a technical feasibility study and 2 workshops with external partners. Based on this a road map for desired development of knowledge and technology in the area was developed.
