Project duration June 2017 - May 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to strengthen our patent portfolio and verify our invasive sensor technology in a longer pre-clinical trial. Our goal was therefore to create two patent applications as well as to obtain measurement results from a trial and compare the results with other reference instruments.

Expected results and effects

During the project we have submitted two patent applications to the Swedish Patent Office (PRV). Together with our patent representative, we have reviewed comments from PRV and decided to proceed with one patent application. We have recently submitted an edited version to the European and U.S. Patent Office. The pre-clinical trial included measurements from about 15 catheters for 5 days. The measurements verify our sensor´s long-term stability with sustained performance. However, we have discovered some initialization issues that need to be addressed.

Planned approach and implementation

In the project we have collaborated with Aros patent agency to create competent patent applications. The pre-clinical trial has been carried out at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City through Karolinska Hospital.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
