Purpose and goal

The overall purpose of the bridging project was to create a platform for continuation of SuMo Biomaterials based on the obtained knowledge and excellent research performed in the centre. The goals have been fulfilled well by improved collaboration and a project plan for continuation of the centre financed by the companies. Visits by guest scientists and performance of one international scientific conference have led to increased internationalisation. Four seed projects and fem knowledge transfer projects have been performed in collaboration between academia and industry.

Expected results and effects

The bridging project has resulted in a thorough project plan for a new centrum based on SuMo Biomaterials. It has also led to knowledge transfer via seed projects and knowledge transfer projects, and increased internationalization via scientific conferences, seminars and visits by guest scientists.

Planned approach and implementation

A number of seminars with industrial and academic researchers from different disciplines and board meetings have been performed in which the future direction of the centre has been discussed and developed. This had led to thorough project plan for a possible future centre. The participating companies have expressed their will to finance a continuation of SuMo due to the excellent research performed based on industry relevant questions and the open working atmosphere in the centre.
