Venture The strategic innovation programme for the Internet of Things

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to lay the foundation for the short and long term competence needs for Sweden in the area of Internet of Things. We have done this through creating a competence matrix covering the required competences and charting out the current education landscape. Based on these we have set up goals, made a plan and suggested an organization to carry out the plan. This was presented to the SIP IoT board.

Results and expected effects

The most important expected outcome of the project is a concrete plan for meeting the needs for competence in the area of the Internet of Things. Such a plan has been developed and presented to the SIP IoT board. This is an important step forward towards the effect goal of Sweden being world leading in multi-disciplinary education in the area of Internet of Things.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out be researchers from Linköping University, Uppsala University and Luleå Technical University coordinated by Fredrik Heintz, LiU. Physical meetings have been combined with digital interactions and active participation in several conference and events. We have also cooperated with the SIP IoT board mainly through physical meetings with Torbjörn Fängström and Östen Frånberg. The final reporting of the project was made at the SIP IoT Board meeting on September 3rd. The execution of the project has worked well and all partners have actively contributed.
