Purpose and goal
The purpose and goal of this project has been to develop a prototype model for assessing quality in the procurement of geriatric care in Sollentuna Municipality. Also, the model will be used during the contract period to continuously improve quality in terms of efficient use of tax funds and increased customer satisfaction for the users of the geriatric care.
Results and expected effects
This project has resulted in a paradigm shift in the procurement of geriatric care; from the procurement of only static mandatory requirements which do not enable quality improvements, to the integration of the quality model which provides a dynamic evaluation model that enables evaluation and improvement of quality throughout the contract period.
Approach and implementation
The project was coordinated by SIQ through workshops, where Sollentuna Municipality and healthcare companies have been involved in the development of the quality model and also the development of the partnership between the municipality and healthcare companies during the contract period. Three workshops have been conducted during the period of June 2015 to October 2015. A final meeting was held in December 2015 with the aim to revise the specifications of the tender documents, i.e. reducing the static requirements as a result of the integration of the quality model.
