Purpose and goal

The goal for project phase C is an implemented industrial platform. This B project aimed to create a verified business case which will form the basis for further work. The project has identified two specific areas of application of two platforms that will contribute to an effective and broad realization as we will quickly be able to attract a critical mass of suppliers and solutions that will make the platform attractive to industry. Furthermore, we have identified strong platform owners for the two platforms, which creates a good basis for the next stage.

Results and expected effects

The project has resulted in a prototype of the marketplace based on use cases, use case descriptions / scenarios of the platform, investigation of technical architecture, business model / description of value creation for the various stakeholders in the platform ecosystem. In addition, we have also contributed to a lab environment that can be used in a forthcoming project stage and we have developed a prototype for a logistics application and a demonstrator of tools to support the development process.

Approach and implementation

The project has organized activities within the two different application areas, process optimization and M2M, which created conditions of attracting relevant actors. Interviews / workshops have been conducted to capture the needs, value creation and use cases and prototype / demonstrator development has been conducted to visualize and verify various solutions. Through our focus on two areas, we have been able to attract relevant SMEs that have the potential to reach out to a larger market by joining the platform
