Important results from the project

The goal of this project was to test, verify and validate the technological platform that NCI New Century Information developed. That is, using advanced MEMS sensors and advanced DGNSS / INS positioning and also guide people in motion, outdoors and with high accuracy, update rate and reliability. This work has been carried out by the NCI in collaboration with Chalmers. The conclusion is that it can provide the basis for further development. It has in turn led to a new application has been submitted in the Vinnova call: Research and Innovation Projects Spring 2016 Ref: 2016-01868

Expected long term effects

At the end of the project 2016-03-07, we have: * Tested, verified, validated and chosen technology platform for continued development * Formed a strong constellation for continued development * Developed the embryo of business models for the continued development and commercialization * Together with Zebastian Modin / Zebastian Modin AB has developed a specification of the Virtual Guidance (see attachment) * Applied to Smarter Electronics Systems call for research and innovation projects in spring 2016 (deadline 2016-03-03) with reference number: 2016-01868

Approach and implementation

A first meeting of all project partners took place at the Sports Tech Research Centre / Mid Sweden University in Östersund November 30, 2015. Zebastian Modin was present on Skype during the meeting. NCI´s technology platform was upgraded with the latest technology. The platform was tested, verified and validated by Chalmers who also performed a competitor and SWOT analysis. This work was recognized as a Master´s Thesis in Product Development at Chalmers headed´Testing and Evaluation of a Tracking Device for Alpine sports´. A draft of this report is attached.
