Venture The strategic innovation programme for Metallic material

Purpose and goal

Competence provision is a crucial, strategic issue for Swedish industry. The purpose of the project is to identify and develop concrete activities and measures that drive development towards a secure supply of skills in the metal industry. A lot of knowledge already exists in the field, but it seems difficult to put into practice. This project is therefore action-oriented and the goal is to achieve increased understanding and new ways of working which in turn can lead to lasting changes in thought and action patterns around competence provision.

Expected results and effects

We will identify and develop concrete activities and measures that drive development towards secure competence provision. Through this work, lasting changes are sought in thought and action patterns on how competence issues, people´s motivation and development power are best utilized, which in the long run can affect the organization´s attractiveness as an employer. The results are reported to stakeholders in the industry, the research community, the education system and politics to inspire new measures that can strengthen the metal industry.

Planned approach and implementation

The project applies a multidisciplinary and action-oriented approach that is iterative and interactive in collaboration with industry organizations and companies. Together, we define problem areas and work actively with well-defined tasks, which we then analyze and reflect on. The approach means that the entire project group - researchers and representatives from industry organizations and companies - work in learning cycles where we meet at intervals of about four months for learning workshops. Here is room for experience exchange, group reflection and feedback.
