Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of IVIS has been to support and actively participate in the implementation of VINNOVA supported ecodesign, PSS and Circular Economics research results into international standards, such as ISO, IEC and CEN / CELENEC. The objective has been to actively implement VINNOVA-supported research results on Ecodesign, PSS and Circular Economics in international standards. This means that research-based instructions, guidelines and experiences has been written into the standards where they are relevant.

Expected results and effects

ISO 14006 - We have already had a major impact on the design. We expect this standard to be completed in early 2019, due to ISO / CD 19991 delays. The standard will be harmonized with other related standards. ISO / CD 19991 - We have had a major impact on the design and we see no signs that this will change. Estimated publication is in the beginning of 2019. Discussions are also ongoing on the development of International Standard on Circular Economics.

Planned approach and implementation

The active participation in meetings under which much of the standard texts evolve has been very significant. Just participating through written comments between meetings is not effective at all. The meetings offer important two-way dialogue opportunities, and the ability to convince other active participants about the arguments we want to highlight. Even active participation in the intermediate work meetings and the writing of text to the above types of meetings has been important. IVIS has enabled the appointment of one and a forthcoming work meeting in Linköping.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
