Funding from Vinnova SEK 100 000
Project duration September 2014 - October 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project aimed to create a strong partner constellation to first establish a grant application and then implement an innovation competition for Innovative use of surplus heat. The part constellation retrieved primarily from the surplus heat consortium SSE-C led by SLU, but has also broadened. All in SSE-C is not involved in the project but will be involved in the use and dissemination of the results. The goal was an elaborate application for enforcement of the competition. We have taken part of the experiences from Region Skåne work with innovation procurement.

Results and expected effects

We have got a broad partner constellation for the implementation of the competition and the dissemination of results. With the planned competition layout with two classes, we will have a broad interest in developing innovations in the surplus heat use. Through SSE-C and the other partners there is a great potential to develop and disseminate the innovations.

Approach and implementation

Partners for the planning grant whas SSE-C / SLU and E.ON. We worked initially with broadening the partner constellation with two municipalities, other energy companies, the County Authority of Skåne and to involve the Swedish Energy Agency and the Association of Swedish District Heating, to gain a national representatiopn. The national parties have not yet accepted participation. The broadened party constellation then developed the proposal for the innovation competition and jointly set up the application.
