Important results from the project
The purpose was to develop a method for increasing the number of medical technology innovations that are implemented in the healthcare system in order to cope with the challenges that healthcare is facing while at the same time contributing to growth in the medical technology sector in Sweden. The project has established three innovation clinics that are good role models for other clinics and created a desire from many other clinics to also become innovation clinics. The Project has created a transparent model for value-creating innovation in partnership.
Expected long term effects
The project has meant a lot to the development of value-creating innovation in partnership. It has highlighted three good examples of clinics that received a lot of attention and thereby better than previously managed to attract staff. The project has also revealed many obstacles and shortcomings that needs to be addressed in order to increase the pace of implementation of innovations in health and medical care. Some obstacles within the organization that we ourselves can and have corrected and other obstacles that are beyond our mandate to rectify, eg different laws.
Approach and implementation
We began with three clinics to develop the concept of value-creating innovation in partnership. This has proved to be a very attractive and stimulating concept that received a lot of attention, which has been very positive and greatly contributed to the successful implementation of the concept. Clinics have tested various methods that all in their own way contributed to developing the concept and the organization´s ability to handle partnerships with the medical technology industry. Without the project, this development work would have taken much longer if it had at all been done.
