Purpose and goal
Purpose: After the project, the participants should: Have an increased interest in technology, on their own conditions Have increased knowledge and insight into what they can achieve with technology in there interest area The project should also generate at least three new ideas. Goal achievement: The participating young women have been given increased knowledge and insight into what they can achieve with technology . Whether the project increased their interest for technology is more difficult to say, but they have at least been given pre-conditions. At least three ideas generated.
Expected results and effects
Over 80 young women with passion for horses, sports and care-giving have been given to work challenges that they see in relation to their interest. They have met experts and learnt how technology can contribute to solving their challenges. Several ideas to products and services have been developed, with varying innovation height. We finalized the project at the regional UF-show, where 15 of the project ideas were presented. In addition, the girls have learnt more about technology and been involved in building their own solutions, for example through Makerspace.
Planned approach and implementation
After the first meeting with the girls, they got to work with “Brain writing” to identify problems related to the interest they are passionate about. The problems were thereafter distributed to experts in programming, game development, optical measurement, Makerspace, etc. The girls visited the technology experts to learn more about the technology and try out things, but also to learn more about how the experts approached their solutions.
