Purpose and goal

The project aimed to develop and test a new systematic multidisciplinary innovation and collaboration methodology for the development of social innovation. It was made with Conference ACSI Camp 2013 hosted by Malmö University. On the theme ´Sustainable Urban Development´ in Malmö, August 26 to 29. A total of about 100 participants from 26 countries worked in cross-sectoral groups with ten real challenges. Challengeholders were among others, E.ON, Volvo, SKL and Amsterdam East.

Results and expected effects

The goal was to implement ACSI Camp hosted by Malmö University on 26-29 August 2013 in Malmö. The goal was 5 challenges and 70 participants. The outcome was 10 challenges which seven Swedish, two Finnish and one Dutch. A total of nearly 100 participants from about 26 countries in the working groups. Most challenge holders have commented positively on the outcome as the groups worked out. They have been interesting and useful. Some results have provided new perspectives on the innovation processes in the organization.

Approach and implementation

The project was based on the design and process developed by The New Club of Paris and Aalto University. The model with inter-sectoral groups and a self-organizing methods with the support of the facilitators has been followed with success. By continuing to further develop design and process the results can be even better. Primarily through the development and better coordinate the process for the recruitment of participants and challenges, as well as the preparatory and support work in relation to challenge holders.
