Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project ”Spelprototyp: Righteous” (Righteous: Game Prototype) has been to develop a prototype acting as a proof of concept that there is market potential for a full production of the game and further to use this prototype as a means to attract funding and/or publishing. Even though the ultimate goal, to attract further funding, has yet to be met the project has still been successful as the prototype and other supporting material have been well received and already been used while pitching and negotiation a full production with interested parties.
Expected results and effects
In addition to the game prototype a ”teaser trailer”, videos, storyboards, presentations and pitches have also been results of the project, developed in order to further prove the market potential of the full game. The effect and impact have already been substantial as the material had, already before the project had ended, been used several times in the pitching process. Approximately 50 pitching sessions have been conducted so far and the teaser trailer have had over 3700 views. The material have been well received and there are currently ongoing discussions with interested parties.
Planned approach and implementation
The project plan with an initial ”pre-production”, a ”prototype phase” and early discussions with potential clients has been successful and both the pre-production results and early client feedback had impact on the prototyping in ways that could not be foreseen at the start of the project. The pre-production had an impact on which mechanics would be the focus for the prototype period and the client feedback showed that early versions of the prototype was enough to explain the vision, which enabled the project group to also work on other supporting materials towards the end of the project.
