Purpose and goal

The higher purpose of the project: ´Smarter control systems in buildings for improved energy efficiency and home automation services. Facilitating integration of higher proportion intermittent renewable energy into the grid through Demand Side Management.´ The project group has after completion a good position to move forward with the development of products and services to meet the target. It will take place in new constellations created thanks to the project.

Expected results and effects

Before the project start it was expected that more focus would be on investigation of the conditions to in Step 2 perform product development of the hardware to read and control various sensors and actuators. This development takes place already regardless of us and may very well be what project participants engage in the future, it is however not quite the challenge to meet the higher purpose. Focus on a Step 2 project should be more on the services, business cases and community building for energy efficiency measures ´peak shaving´, control by hourly rate and demand response aggregation.

Planned approach and implementation

A project plan was drafted by coordinator in seven parts, with a responsible project partner for each. The plan was discussed and approved at the first meeting. Luckily we came across Kraftforum, that became a good arena to two times test our ideas, network and catalyze the learning process for ourselves. Group meetings have taken place primarily online. It had probably been positive for the result if one or two more physical meetings had been conducted. Project partners Switch Tech has not yet delivered the report on the hardware aspects as planned. A survey among stakeholders where made.
