Purpose and goal

The project aims to establish a national laboratory-based learning environment in a real school environment in order to achieve a world-class school with the best physical, educational and social conditions for learning through digitalization, interior and indoor climate. The preliminary study has identified needs and problem areas and made commitment to developing the learning environment. At the end of the project, three appropriate F-9 schools and one upper secondary school have been appointed to function as the laboratory-based learning environment.

Expected results and effects

The educational potential of activity-based learning is great and can be realized with the help of digitization and creative interior design. The project has identified methods and systems for validating the learning environment through digitalization, interior and indoor climate and contributing to new knowledge about optimal school environment. Through the planned laboratory environment, opportunities have been prepared to evaluate and introduce new services and products in schools and other educational activities.

Planned approach and implementation

An important prerequisite for achieving results has been to create engagement and consensus in teacher management and in other administrative units in the municipality. The introduction of technology, systems and methods will not happen automatically as technology advances, but requires a structured approach to incorporating it into business and changing policies, financial calculation models, etc. based on previously proven approaches and solutions.
