The feasibility study has resulted in a need identification and clarification of the focus of continued research and development of business support. Furthermore, a detailed description has been made of existing literature in the area and a theoretical framework has been defined. The project has been on såsätt laid a good foundation for further research and in alra highest degree to continued collaboration with a number of the pilot study in participating companies. The project has also resulted in two comprehensive project plans have been defined, which in turn led to two applications

Results and expected effects

The aim of the pilot study to explore the possibility for companies to adopt a standard for systematic innovation management and to examine how existing theory can contribute to a management system for practice have been well met. An initial investigation of industrial needs in the project led us to a focus on radical and incremental innovation in product development and this, as well as an extensive literature study has laid the foundation for a methodology for adapting, implementing and using a system for systematic management of innovation.

Approach and implementation

The pilot study consisted of three parts: company needs analysis, test of the new tech spec (CEN / TS 16555-1) and literature review. The issues interested a wide range of business why the needs analysis went smoothly and yielded good results. Testing the ´standard´ gave a good critical analysis, although a more extensive study is needed for a scientific analysis. The literature review was carried out systematically including 1200 articles. It provides a particularly good basis for further work. The interest from companies for this part exceeded the researchers´ expectations.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
