Purpose and goal

Advocacy platform EULIGHTer is linked to the strategic innovation program LIGHTer. The objective has been to increase lightweight focus within Horizon 2020. The aim has been to enable increased Swedish participation in lightweight projects within Horizon 2020 in by presenting the prioritized issues from LIGHTer´s strategic agenda to the EU Commission.

Expected results and effects

LIGHTer has established the concept International Network Member, and via RISE has joined as partner in the ELCA - European Lightweight Cluster Alliance. Two meetings with NMPB officers and presentation of possible lightweight topics at EFFRA meeting in autumn 2018 Following analysis of existing programs, proposals for 4 lightweight topics have been developed and presented through different routes in Brussels. Participation in about 2 workshops / year during the project period and LIGHTer International Conference with information on opportunities to apply for projects

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been divided in 4 main activities 1) Strategy work to match LIGHTer´s priorities with EU goals at different levels. 2) Influence the current work program and the forthcoming Horizon Europe to include lightweight as a prioritized topic 3) Presence in Brussels 4) Information LIGHTer’s network about opportunities to apply for international projects
