Important results from the project

The goal and purpose of the project was to develop a demonstrator for the latest cellular 4G LTE Cat-M technology. This technology is focused on cellular IoT devices. As part of efforts to meet the objectives Mistbase also been able to keep their plan for future commercialization and growth set in this project description.

Expected long term effects

Mistbase has been able to show a demonstrator at the latest cellular 4G LTE Cat-M technology. An early demonstrator based on this project was shown already during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in February. The demonstrator has not only proven that Mistbase has what it takes to develop this technology in its unique way, but also opened up many new customer / partner contacts. As a direct result of this project; partnerships with a number of companies has been initialized. In addition, Mistbase and Lund University today has a closer contact with each other.

Approach and implementation

The project was run according to the work packages specified. The first working packages has an internship from the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) performed. The first part was about to take in the radio signals into the system, followed by the hardware needed to synchronize to the cellular base stations. In parallel, staff from Mistbase developed software for control and the demonstrator. Department of Electrical and Information Technology at LTH has helped with expertise, guidance and domain knowledge when difficult problems needed to be solved to take the project forward.
