Project duration December 2018 - March 2019
Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

The Swedish model for cooperation for innovation in smart mobility, that is Drive Sweden with surrounding ecosystem, has enjoyed global acclaim. DriveX aims to assess the export potential of the model, in order to generate business benefits for Swedish companies, to position Sweden in the smart mobility area, as well as to contribute to local development of sustainable mobility. The innovation model consists of a technical platform (Innovation Cloud), the transparent Swedish triple-helix project format, as well as selected contributions from Swedish mobility players.

Expected results and effects

The aim of this pre-study is to deliver a credible plan for how to proceed with phase 1, which is aligned with Swedish and foreign actors. Phase 1 subsequently covers two PoC-projects: one in Singapore, with the aim to have a demonstration at the ITS World Congress in Oct 2019; and one in Dubai, with similar aims in terms of a Swedish mobility activity at the world exhibition EXPO 2020. ... alternatively, the conclusions from the preliminary study may be that one or both of the target images are not reasonable and that the effort should therefore be changed or discontinued.

Planned approach and implementation

Singapore and Dubai have been selected for the pre-study based on their interest in using new technologies for mobility, strong finances, and ability to implement radical solutions - while, compared to Sweden, lacking domestic expertise in eg. automotive and telecom . Within the pre-study, the "Swedish Innovation Model" and objectives for its exports will be detailed, relevant aspects of local conditions mapped, and the model and implementation plan for PoC will be developed, documented and anchored with relevant parties in Sweden as well as in Dubai and Singapore.
